Not necessary at the present, but it's been a nice bonus. I think if the impetus really had anything to do with a healing cycle, the first scheduled BYE weeks would be later in the season than week 3.<br><br>Of course, having your BYE week moved from week 10 to week 2 is indeed really annoying for all the reasons you mentioned, and MLB pulled a royal f-up over the Astros even worse just becacuse some rich guy did not want to give up the gate receipts for three games down there.
